There’s no stopping the Browning boy from doing the biz but this week its a bumper golden peg payday….

hydie golden peg win
Paul Hyde, Browning-Wickford, peg 24, 68-8-0

Well same result with the same method of feeding but from a different peg and to top it all the jammy git was sitting on a golden peg so this resulted in a bumper payday, he’s got to start paying tax on this surely. Not the sort of bloke you take to easily but all that said not a bad club angler and these last few weeks he has proved he has got more luck than talent when it comes to catching a few fish, I mean he has won this match by a margin of 8oz’s how lucky is that, lol, 4mm expander to the hook and loose feeding 4mm pellet by hand down the track and running a new GORILLA elastic through the top kit Paul has got it all sorted by a country mile, Paul was dealt some sad news this week hearing of the passing of his ex-father in law Ron an all round top man so this win is dedicated to Ron you will be missed, well done today Paul great tribute

Autumn is fast approaching us as the leaves on the willow trees are turning brown and the fish appear to have moved out into slightly deeper water, well that’s for most people Dennis stuck to his guns and with 8mm cubes of meat on a slow sinking tiny waggle on his top kit he made it work, but it only happen for him in the last hour, how’s your luck Den

He has got it all going on and really an angler in form at the moment, and not a bad sort of a chap i suppose mind you he is a bit of a one horse jocky, pellet down the track with a maggot on the hook he has been doing it for weeks, he’s a bit like his mate from Redbridge Paul Grant……. lucky, they both draw well and just get lucky……alot lol

Pellet down the track for a six hour session of bites, skimmers and carp and Granty just done enough to knick himself a nice little win, luck played a massive part in the match because he really isn’t very good at all, lucky lucky Granty……lol

Roy’s turn again this week for the pole position and beats the Redbridge wonder Granty and stops two golden pegs in the process….

Roy Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 4, 141-8-0

This has been the week of the carp feeding better than anything else , Mr Stanley has caught well down the inner margins on pellet and while resting this line he fished a line tight to the far bank and bagged up on carp there, the peg was solid man, lucky old Roy

Paul Hyde, Browning-Wickford, peg 8, 150-0-0

After a week away with the kids Paul just rocks up and smashes the match with 150lb of pellet fish down the track and inner margins another solid performance from the Browning man a mixture of carp and silver fish again, the pellet just catches everything in the peg, but his performance wasn’t good enough to stop the rain for the weigh in and he duly got a massive soaking, lol

Peg 11 is the most unfenced peg on the venue at the moment but today it was rocking…

paul dunn, 1.8.2015
Paul Dunn, Lake John Fishery, peg 11, 96-8-0

As the summer season draws to a close the lake had some extensive foliage trimming and peg repairs ready for the colder weather when it finally arrives, this could have been one of the reasons un-fancied peg 11 turned in a good performance, pellet master Dunn drip fed the peg on two lines to max out with a near ton performance of mainly carp.

A last minute booking for Roy Stanley pays off….

Roy Stanley 15.8.2015
Roy Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 12, 121-12-0

Roy was the only man to achieve the magical ton today and with the water levels a bit lower than we would like Roy found the fish were happiest feeding on the far bank margin, bulking the peg out with micro pellets and corn to the hook, but the bait had to be as tight to the bank as possible, predominately carp for Roy with the odd stray skimmer.

Browning boy Hydie scratches a few fish dow the track on another tuff fishing day at Lake John…

hydie and Kevin
Paul Hyde, Browning-Wickford, peg 9, 64-0-0

Another difficult day at the lake as the 100lb weights of recent weeks have gone for the moment at least, it was a usual approach for Mr Hyde as he concentrated down the track kinder potting micro pellets with a 4mm pellet to the hook, the best tip for this place at the moment is to fish for everything in the peg and be glad of every bite, steady feeding is the key right now skimmers are making up 60% of the total catch weights

Pinch punch first day of the month, and once in every blue moon it fishes hard, but fair….

paul dunn, 1.8.2015
Paul Dunn, Lake John Fishery, peg 3, 69-0-0

Well we have had a hatch of flying ants which must cover at least 2 acres and there was a blue moon last night, so with a moody moon and enough natural food landing on the water to feed a thousand carp the fishing was due to take a downward turn, however Mr Dunn is back in charge and scrapes together a reasonable victory having to search the peg to its max to keep the fish coming, pellets all the way and a mixture of carp and bream.
