It was a Fireworks win for Roy Stanley….

Roy Stanley bottom lake 2016
Roy Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 24, 53-4-0

What a cold snap it was not even a pocket full of bangers would keep you warm but Roy braved the elements and slowly put together a few fish just off the far bank margin, Roy put his fair in the trusted pellet and plugged away feeding very little and teasing a few bites in between shivering, no silver fish caught during the match today only carp so those bream must be sulking big time.

  • Andy Gregory, Drennan-Borden/Spotted Fin, peg 19, 42-2-0
  • Paul Dunn, Lake John Fishery, peg 1, 42-0-0

Rob Dean adopted the full winter approach with mag and ground bait….

rob-dean-wednesdays-winner-3-11-16
Rob Dean, Lake John Fishery, peg 9, 85-0-0

The weather is on the turn and the natural baits is where its going to be for the for seeable future, Rob started on a 12m line feeding very generously with ground bait and dead maggot and just like the rest of the field it was a slow start but Rob was soon putting together some better silver fish and so mid match decided to repeat this on the shorter 6m line, it was a bite a chuck from 2pm onwards and a great final tally almost 30lb ahead of the nearest angler.

  • Martin Amos, Lake John Fishery, peg 3, 58-8-0 jnt
  • Trevor Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 29, 58-8-0 jnt

Paul Hyde once again breaks the 100lb barrier during Saturdays open match…

Paul Hyde 9th July 2016 peg 8 109lb

Paul Hyde, Browning-Wickford, peg 8, 109-8-0

Hydie is back from a couple of weeks away and back on the rostrum, we have been giving golden peg money away every week for five weeks making every peg a golden peg but like all good things they must come to an end, so this week Paul had to be content with flat money and no bonus, pellet down the track and then a switch to the inner margins for the only angler to break the 100lb

  • Paul Dunn, Lake John Fishery, peg 14, 80-0-0
  • Martin Amos, Lake John Fishery, peg 12, 67-8-0
  • Andy Gregory, Drennan-Borden/Spotted Fin, peg 63-8-0
  • Billy Lucas, Kings Langley, peg 22, 57-0-0

Its that man Lipscombe Again…

Dennis Lipscombe july 2016 peg 9
Dennis Lipscombe, Oakwood Angling, peg 9, 136-4-0

Its a ton of silver fish fun on the top lake at the moment and Dennis is on top of his game with yet another 100b + of silvers, simple approach meat on the short 5m line is getting all the fish you need to win on this lake at the moment

  • Mick Scanlan, Oakwood Angling, peg 13, 129-4-0
  • Dave McGrath, Harrow Postals, peg 26, 116-12-0
  • Steve Reynolds, Lake John Fishery, peg 29, 107-0-0

The bright young talent that is Billy Lucas not only wins today but also scoops the golden peg pot…

Billy Lucas 2016
Billy Lucas, Kings Langley, peg 12, 107-0-0

Don’t complicate things is the moral to this story, Billy has fished either side of keenest with meat catching very little to start with but then a great second half of the match, small carp and skimmers, about time this lad had a decent sponsor, well done Bill

  • Roy Makins, GOT Baits, peg 7, 104-12-0
  • Paul Hyde, Browning-Wickford, peg 6, 103-12-0
  • Paul Whitford, Lake John Fishery, peg 96-4-0

Top Kit Dennis is victorious this week with 150lb of silvers…

Den Lip 2016
Dennis Lipscombe, Oakwood Angling, peg 36, 153-4-0

Not know to fish the long pole Dennis opted for the short pole again and meat just off the inner shelf margin, a huge weight again from the top lake of silver fish and the back up weights weren’t to shabby either.

  • Darren Bates, Lake John Fishery, peg 26, 138-8-0
  • John Nippress, Lake John Fishery, peg 38, 108-8-0
  • Ernie McGregor, Brunswick Brothers, peg 32, 92-8-0

“Make mine a double”, Trevor Stanley makes it two wins in two…

Trevor Stanley 10.1.2016
Trevor Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 8, 52-8-0

So off a ton of silvers on Wednesday Trevor had to change the feeding and the whole approach to this match fishing half depth first with bread and then on the meat, feeding was minimal to almost nothing tight to the far bank margin, and unlike Wednesday it was an all out carp match, good darts Trevski…. now you can let your face know how pleased you are you misog, lol

  • Bill Lucas, Kings Langley, peg 1, 48-0-0
  • Paul Grant, Lake John Fishery, peg 16, 47-4-0
  • Dennis Lipscombe, Oakwood Angling, peg 19, 45-8-0

Another match and another ton of silver fish….

trevor stanley golden peg 2015
Trevor Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 8, 100-0-0

Trevor started the match today on the popped up bread and had a steady run of fish on a line that doesn’t always produce especially in the open water, the longer 11m pole line produced a few fish also feeding was controlled so as not to attract the carp, but in was the 5m line loose feeding meat that was the most productive, big jumping bream and plenty of em, great days sport Trevski…

  • Martin Amos, Lake John-Oakwood, peg 26, 96-12-0

Roy Makins sat win Greggory photo bombing
Roy Makin, GOT Baits, peg 6, 56-8-0

Its was wet and cold and not nice really at all but the match stayed close to the end with 10 anglers achieving over 40lb at the final whistle, top kit for Roy feeding pellet and a bit of worm to the hook, caught all things with fins, carps and breams, come on summer where are ya….
