“Make mine a double”, Trevor Stanley makes it two wins in two…

Trevor Stanley 10.1.2016
Trevor Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 8, 52-8-0

So off a ton of silvers on Wednesday Trevor had to change the feeding and the whole approach to this match fishing half depth first with bread and then on the meat, feeding was minimal to almost nothing tight to the far bank margin, and unlike Wednesday it was an all out carp match, good darts Trevski…. now you can let your face know how pleased you are you misog, lol

Trevor Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 8, 100-0-0

Trevor started the match today on the popped up bread and had a steady run of fish on a line that doesn’t always produce especially in the open water, the longer 11m pole line produced a few fish also feeding was controlled so as not to attract the carp, but in was the 5m line loose feeding meat that was the most productive, big jumping bream and plenty of em, great days sport Trevski…

 Dennis Lipscombe 105lb win
Dennis Lipscombe, Oakwood Angling, peg 8, 105-2-0

Dennis Lipscombe is not known to fish the long pole hence the nickname but in all fairness he did venture out to 5m just down the shelf and with the first proper outing on the meat gave them fish exactly what they were looking for, bream, bream and more bream with the odd tench, but what a bag of fish for my old Mucker.

Lake John has a new King, old King Col is this years champion taking Big Ricky’s title from last year, long live the King…..

King Col April 2016 The spring league finalists
Colin Bartlett, Lake John-Drennan, peg 9, 67-8-0

There is a new King John and its yours truly officially now known as OLD KING COL, the banter was flying and the ex King ( Ricky Martinelli )is now a peasant again, i must admit the draw was kind but the job still had to get done, and with the far bank reed margin looking inviting it was a shallow 6mm expander that tempted a few fish early, and it was my first time using the GORILLA elastic which i have renamed it steering wheel elastic because when you hook them carp you just steer them around all the snags straight into your landing net, PUKKA stuff, a few skimmers short and left hand margin was all it took to be crowned the new King of the Spring league.
