Lee Ripper, GOT Baits, peg 14, 126-8-0

The Ripper man does it again with a ton of bites from a strong peg and just like last week Lee piled in the pellet and fish 7 dead red maggots on the hook, proper winter carp style fishing on a scorcher of a summers day (what do we know about fishing really aye), admitting to 80 or 90b this proves what a liar these anglers are and each week they get worst, Lee Ripper grinds out two wins in two, is he a popular champion ?……….errr…………………no, lol

Korda were here filming the next series of THE BIG FISH OFF so the match was rearranged to allow TV cameras to do there thing, but this didn’t phase Luke as he lands 16 carp unto 10lb…

So with a dozen people from ITV and telly land we had a star studded event with Ali Hamidi, Dean Macey, Mark Bright and DJ Spoony filming we compressed the match onto the remaining banks and it was the regular Wednesday stars that sorted all the fish out and with the pole line quiet for Luke it was a no brainer hard pellet and bomb chuck to the island and then catapulting hard 8mm pellets at the island, a great day tip fishing with 16 carp from 3lb to 10lb, another close match and the lake hosting the new series was just a bonus, great to meet Ali and the team, great day.

  • John Nippress, Lake John Fishery, peg 18, 69-12-0
  • Bill Everitt, Redbridge Lakes, peg 28, 69-8-0, (It would appear that a 10lb put back carp for Bill was not included in the total tally  but being a true gent this was no contested, just to say that at the scales we need to concentrate on ever angler so these problems do not occur).

Almost capacity crowd show for this mid weaker as Dennis Lipscombe strolls easily past the hundred barrier…

Dennis Lipscombe, Oakwood Angling, peg 13, 132-8-0

Not know to fish the long pole Dennis loose fed by hand 8mm cubes of meat at 5m for a huge haul of bream, no carp ventured in on this short line which is a good job really because it doesn’t seem like there would have been enough room for one, it was bream soup the fish averaged 2lb to 4lb proper fish, proper fishing…………. Lucky old Lipscombe

Spoons, Bare Bank, Basildon Babe

Roy you are now becoming boring yeah, yeah, yeah so you won another match do you realise how boring this write up is becoming…….pellet, far bank, carp…… boring, O yeah and another thing no-one likes you, that’s why you sit at a table on your own at the draw, so you now have a new nick name “Bare bank Roy”, because its always tight to the far bank………if you weren’t such a nice bloke you would really be hated, ha ha ha….so here’s a picture of the current form three stooges, and it looks like last weeks burnt arms have been covered up, well done Royski, 3 in a row………………legend.

Billy Everitt shows off the rig that done all the damage this week, he’s like that no secrets, zoom in on this balance of water craft and angling ability….. quality from reel to hook….well that and a great ability to draw well………lol

Billy Everitt, Redbridge Lakes, peg 30, 108-0-0

When he is not drawing bang on on the right hand bank he is drawing in the face on the wind in the height of summer fishing top kit plus one joint on, the man is a machine, corn over micro pellet feeding the biggest kinder pot of micro pellets every put in and the juiciest bit of corn you can fit on a size 14 hook was good enough to sustain an audience of bream, tench and other greedy, greedy fish to give last weeks winner Mr Makins an absolute tuning on the next peg, a great performance from probably the luckiest angler your even going to meet on the open match circuit of his generation, the legend that is Redbridge ( almost Chigwell ) royalty William Everitt, way to go Bill…..lol

Fish were looking like spawning again so it looked like it was going to fish hard….

roy stanley june 2015
Roy Stanley, Lake John Fishery, peg 1, 87-8-0

The fishing was harder than expected today but it didn’t stop Roy (the boy) Stanley making this his second victory in succession, fishing tight to the far bank which was void of any vegetation kinder potting pellets and hooking a 6mm expander, mixture of fish but it was the carp that help bulk the nets, another great win for Royski, could he make it three in a row next week? will he be singing any Blues Brothers tracks? and will those arms loose that burnt red look, ha ha ha…..

Well pop pickers Makins is up one place from last week but unlike last week it was not a golden peg…..

roy makins may 2015

Roy Makins, GOT Baits, peg 26, 103-4-0

Roy couldn’t believe his luck when he drew peg 26 which was last weeks winning peg which was the also the peg that cost him the golden peg, irony aye don’t you just love it, so this picture is the picture that was to be used for his golden peg victory last week that he didn’t win, irony aye don’t you just love it, but you have got to it to the old git , not only has he got a super dooper wide centre parting, he has got his fish catching head on big time, consistency is the key to success in this game and at the moment Roy is on his game, meat and corn over a bed of micro pellet made the way for a winning net but as Roy said after the competition the fishing was patchy for a good part of the match, switching between meat and corn to the hook and working the peg that bit harder was just enough to gain the extra couple of pounds needed to pip draw bag Solen to the top spot, well done today Roy.
